This page is dedicated to Pastor Jernigan's personal news, events, and prayer requests. My favorite scripture verse: Isaiah 61:1-2 1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
Personal Facts Gayle and I were joined together in marriage on September 1, 1978. We have two sons Joseph Wayne Jernigan, and Stephen Andrew Jernigan who are both born again and saved, and living on their own; Joey in Atlanta, Georgia, and Stephen in Nashville, Tennessee.
Personal News
Thank you for your prayers concerning Joey and Lindsay's
wedding that took place on March 11, 2006. Everything went well and all of our family members
arrived and returned safely. God bless you Joey and Lindsay as
you enter into this new phase of your life.
Personal Praises: Open Door's 5th FAITH banquet was held on January 7 and was a huge success. A big thank you to Doug Williams who came to be our special speaker. Five people came forward at the morning service to be trained for FAITH, once again allowing Open Door to field 10 FAITH teams this Spring semester! Pray for our FAITH strategy as we begin visitations Thursday March 23rd.
Personal Prayer Requests: My cousin Bennie Pittman, passed away Friday, February 3. My grandmother on my mother's side, Grace Williams, passed away on April 28, 2006 in Nashville. Pray for our family as we learn to readjust our lives without her. We love you and will miss you "Nanny". Our youngest son Stephen, who has completed his training at the Nashville Auto Diesel College in Nashville. Pray that he might find employment in the racing industry, or a job in general.
Pray for our parents as they grow older. Gayle's mom has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's (stage 2), and her dad's circulation in his legs is not doing too well. My dad has "retired" once again, and his heart will not allow him to exert himself to any great degree without getting exhausted. My mom seems to being good, but with the loss of her own mother here recently, as well as her nephew a few months ago, it has been a hard year for our family.
